Hello all! New graphics output of Astrolog 5.20e probably needs more detailed explanation than my previous short posting. Astrolog 5.20e is changed version of Astrolog 5.20 by Walter D. Pullen (Astara@msn.com, http://www.magitech.com/~cruiser1/astrolog.htm) The idea of this graphics output was given by Theodore Natsinas the author of "Astro - Chart", (1992) publiched by Compupress - Greece. Any comments or opinions about it can be mailed to: tednat@compulink.gr Kernel of idea is in graphical displaying of harmonics/tensions, generatad for chart's planets. In every point of Zodiac are calculated sums of powers of different possible aspects, where harmonic aspects gives positives and tension aspects negatives influences. As harmonic aspects are taked into account trines and sextiles, as tension aspects oppositions and squares. Conjuctions aren't taked into account as neutral (also other higher aspects). Aspects powers are calculated in standard for Astrolog way with previously defined aspects and planets powers, aspects orbs etc. (Planet powers are actually calculated from defined powers). More harmonic points are placed near outside of wheel, more tensed ones near centre. Result is like some "flower", where petals shows harmonic areas in chart, and intervals between petals shows tension areas. Neutral areas (ring in centre) doesn't means, that these aren't important or have small influences, that means balance of influences. Petals with great amplitude shows important harmonic aspected points even there aren't any planet, and amplitudes of petals gives simple possibility to compare different points in chart. If one is more interested in tension areas, which are near centre of chart, output can be inverted. Then petals shows tension areas and inervals between petals harmonic ones. As I wrote above, neutral areas can be important too (for example, some stellium, not aspected for other planets). To show these areas, other calulations way is added. Here are summarized powers of all allowed aspects with same sign. Petals shows well aspected areas. Which are influence - harmonic, tension or both together, can look for two first charts. All these charts can be rescaled, that mean, size of "flower" can be changed. Of course, tension, harmonic and well aspected areas can be read from "classical" graphics wheel, but outputs described below gives good tool to compare different areas quantitatively. Analogious "flowers" can be calculated also for comparsion charts: nathal-nathal, nathal-transit, nathal-progressed. Here "flower" is superposition of two flowers from first and second chart. In other words, here are calculated sums of powers of possible aspect's of planets from both charts. Here are only small difference. For first (inner) chart planet's powers are calculated, for outer ring are three possibiltyes: calculated powers for second nathal chart, defined powers for transitinf planets, powers of nathal planets for progressed planets. What gived us for example, such comparsion charts nathal-transit? Only list of transiting aspects with powers don't say something about possible patterns (Grand Trines, T-Squares etc). These can be displayed by "normal" graphics comparsion wheel. But here aren't displayed relative "powers" of different possible patterns. New chart shows influence of transiting planets. If planet don't hit any petal, influence is low (unexact aspects, less important planets). If planet hits any petal, that mean, that this planet is well aspected by both charts (natal and transiting) and influence can be great. This planet is like "bridge" between nathal and transiting chart. In other words, these charts gives some quantitative comparison of different influences. Very interesting is possible animation of such comparsion charts (but it is very slow). Planets moves, also moves petals (and changes his amplitude). One can scan over the some time interval and look for time of important transits (5.20e shows in these cases time of transit, not fixed data from first chart). Added is also respective text output (addition to switch -j). Here are printed harmonic and tension components, sum (first two flowers) and total aspectation (third flower) in points, where placed all alowed objects. Note, that these AREN'T powers of planets, but quantitative situations in points, where planets are placed. In other words, these are amplitudes of flowers in these points.
